When you are doing the game,a nd say you join a server that allows PvP and PvE er whatever you do to allow both right? Do you have to sett up matches? Or can you just run up to people and be like BAM your dead?

if you are in a match they are ready for you

otherwise there is no pk interaction at all

sanctioned matches only

Which means? They have to like...accept a challange? and also, if im fighting a guy, PvE can someone random just come in and help me out?

you won't be fighting another person in PvE. in PvE it's just you, your team and the monsters/creatures/badguy AIs. this game is instanced, which means that you won't just randomly find other people when you are out where you can kill monsters.

in PvP you have to go to the specific PvP area, and either click "join mission" for the arena random PvP, or join a team in Tombs and then get sent to whatever map the game puts you in.

PvP combat is limited to PvP areas in GW. You can't attack someone(and no friendly-fire) in PvE. As Duality said, all of the missions are instanced, so only the people in your party can interact with you until you head back to a town or outpost.

In addition, all PvP is team-based in GW- it's not set up for 1vs1 matches. In some areas, you're team is chosen for you randomly, and in others you'll join or create a team to head in, and your team will battle versus one or more opposing teams, with different match types- Annihilation, King of the Hill, Capture the Flag, etc.
